Paul Berends – CPA, CA, LPA

Proprietor, Assurance and Tax Specialist

A graduate of the Schulich School of Business – York University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Paul joined KPMG after graduation and soon after received his CA designation in July of 1992.

In September of 1992 Paul founded Paul Berends Chartered Accountant as a sole proprietor and obtained his public accounting license. Paul subsequently successfully completed the 2 year CICA In-depth Tax Course, Canada’s leading program for tax practitioners.

With over 25 years of experience Paul is responsible for all facets of accounting, assurance, tax planning and corporate tax services and oversees personal tax compliance and business advisory services.

 

Paul Berends Sr. – RPA

Senior Manager

Paul Sr. was admitted to The Canadian Institute of Accredited Public Accountants in 1983 and completed the membership requirements of the Society of Professional Accountants of Canada in 1993 and received his RPA designation.

Paul Sr. supervises all bookkeeping and payroll services and HST and WSIB return preparation and is frequently the primary contact for clients utilizing these services.

Paul Sr. brings over 50 years of bookkeeping, accounting and business management experience to the proprietorship providing a valuable resource for business advisory services. His enthusiasm helps to ensure client satisfaction.

 

Susan Yang

PERSONAL TAX RETURN PREPARER AND SENIOR BOOKKEEPER

Susan has completed the first 3 levels of the CGA program and has 15 years of bookkeeping experience in a variety of industries.

Susan is a key component of our bookkeeping, HST, payroll and personal tax return preparation services.

 

Jane Huculak

Personal and Estate Tax Return Preparer

Jane brings 25 years of personal tax return experience many with a national tax return preparation company.

Jane is an integral part of our tax department and enjoys working closely with our clients during the interview process and facilitating their filing tax filings and communications with the Canada Revenue Agency.

 

Carol Monk

Senior Personal and Estate Tax Return Preparer and Bookkeeper

Carol brings over 40 years of bookkeeping, personal, corporate and trust tax return, payroll and HST return preparation experience.

Carol was formerly a senior manager with a national tax return preparation company and brings a wealth of knowledge to the proprietorship.

Aranka has been with the proprietorship since its inception.

Aranka’s abilities to ensure that clients are well taken care of and their appointments and communications are handled in a professional and courteous manner form an important part of our client experience and are greatly appreciated.
